The Full Story
BrightPrep Tutoring began when a high school student noticed a gap in Westchester County's supplemental education industry: nearly every tutor was an adult, and many charged prices that are unaffordable for many families. Thus, BrightPrep Tutoring was born with the goal of providing the Westchester Community with high-quality, affordable academic enrichment.
We are achieving this goal in more ways than one. We have conducted over 600 hours of tutoring and donated over $6,000 to the Horace Greeley High School Scholarship Fund, which helps HGHS seniors afford college when their financial aid is insufficient.
Achievements and Impact
BrightPrep Tutoring has blossomed since its humble beginnings. With a roster of 35 tutors, we have helped dozens of students develop into more confident, capable, and independent individuals. Charging only $35 an hour, this past year we generated over $21,000 in revenue and raised over $6,000 for the HGHS Scholarship Fund.
Last year, BrightPrep hosted a successful Mock Algebra I Regents Exam, with over a dozen students attending and experiencing a realistic simulation of the upcoming exam. Additionally, we were featured in the Spring 2026 issue of Stroll Magazine in a piece that highlights our story and mission.
Our Goals
We are constantly working to expand BrightPrep Tutoring's impact in our community. By growing our tutors, clients, and supporters, we aim to help as many students as possible, whether though our services directly or through our contributions to the Scholarship Fund.
